After purchasing Lucasfilm in 2012, the Mouse House has overseen the divisive Star Wars sequel trilogy, and explored other areas of the timeline via spin-off movies Rogue One and Solo. Many of the projects following in The Mandalorian's wake were announced at Disney's 2020 investor's event, and despite big news from the MCU and Pixar camps, that day undoubtedly belonged to Star Wars.
